Another Milestone

Results.
You heard.
You want to know what I got?
Am I happy?
Am I pathetically weeping at I type?
Did I get into University?
Ok Ok Ok
I shall tell you...

I am seriously happy!!!
I got into Edinburgh!
And I outdid my estimations by... A LOT.
I managed to get,
Photography - A* (full marks for the entire A Level) (Go Girl)
English - A (turns out my disaster of a RE-TAKE wasn't a disaster after all)
Philosophy - B (By this time, I was weeping into my certificates)

So yer...
pretty cool.

HAHAH I'm ecstatic!!!!!
Such a load of my mind I can't tell you!
I definitely shed a tear of surprise/shire happiness as I realised the grades.
(the actual certificates are so damn hard to read)
Plus the English certificate which told me my grade
was actually put into my cousin, Georgina Sutton's envelope
My school is shocking.

I would be blabbering on about how wasted I'm planning on becoming this weekend.
But alas,
I
have
tonsillitis.
As does my boyfriend,
Peter.
Quite hilarious really
if you think about it.
But also infuriating
if you think about it more!

I'm getting carried away, I can feel it.

Happy Blogging everyone
(Hope the people who got results yesterday are happy and smiling)

Ok, so it's a Filing Job...

What i'll remember about this summer:

Exams
End of School

Work
Work
Work

Work... man oh man.
Adolescence is hard to hold on to.
I miss the days when all I had to do was rely on my parents.
Nowadays one has to rely on themselves.
Got to get a job, got to make money, got to buy your own ticket.
In a lot of ways it's better; the independence, the feeling when you receive that first pay check.
In others ways it's just like...

'GOD DAMN,
WHY WON'T SOMEBODY ELSE JUST PAY FOR IT'

But right now, I'm feeling gooood!!!!!
I have just secured a job from September to December!
Ok, so it's a filing job..
Ok, so i'll be bored out of my mind for 4 months..
But fuck, I am going travelling for 6 months next year!!!!
Travel date: 26th of December.

aAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaH!

You need to meet the travelling ladies,
some of which you might recognise already..

Daisy
Katie
Tiffany

& Jess

- some of the places we're throwing around right now.

December 2010 - July 2011

I think that'll be a summer I remember!

Long Time No Speak

Hey

I'm doubting people have even noticed my absence from the bloggosphere (although I'd like to imagine people have missed me) but still, I have been feeling really quite guilty about leaving my blog alone for this long. Very strange... I didn't realise how much I actually use this thing.. how much I like to blog/think about blogging/stalk other blogs etc etc, until I had no time to do any of those things this past week!

It has been amazing!!
My first week of freedom that is..

Just so you know, my exams..... meh... they went OK.. not bad.. alright.. could have been worst/better (you know the drill) but I have dispelled the dreaded thought of that little piece of paper (which has the potential power to fuck everything up) from my mind and I am just going about my days, sporting a carefree mind.

There is much to tell, many photographs to share, gossip to vent! But for now, I shall update you with the latest -
My Leaver's Ball.

The name is pretty much self explanatory, it was a ball for those who are leaving school (like me) which joyfully cost 50 squids and consisted of 'free' wine, mediocre food, gowns, gleeful chat and shameful dancing. Overall, the night was hilarious and so much fun!
I had such a 'ball'.
(I know you love my jokes)

Now, I could rant for Britain with all that has gone on this week, but I think it's safest to save my gossip for another (preferably rainy) day. Here are my favourite photos taken from Friday night. A small summary of the event you could say....
You have here some of the gals, looking gorgeous at Tiffany's house before the ball.
You have here cousin G unit and mee! My dress was bought about 4 hours before this photograph was taken! That's right.. it is a drastic dress. It turns out the dress I had bought off ASOS a week beforehand decided not to show up - cue PANIC STATIONS and even a few tears. But it all turned out fine! I prefer that dress actually! It's from French Connection (my favourite shop) and, even though the length was madness, It was so lovely to wear.
Freeman and Tom
(he wasn't going to the ball, incase you were questioning his attire)
Yup, there's me, cheekily (drunkenly) posing for the camera.
Girls go Beige
My date, Willy Wonka and I
(he got head butted and his nose is now wonky, although he is adamant that this is not the case)
His is sometimes called Willoughby and he is just my friend - for the record.
I've cut the meal photographs and got straight to the good stuff - the dancing.
Oooooo the dancing. I wish I could dance like this every night.
S Club 7 never gets old.
A bit out of place eh?
After the ball, we all headed back to Tiffany's for the 'after party' and made full use of her lovely pull and hot tub!
This is the hilarious part of the evening, Freeman and I laughed more than usual.
I put this one on just to affirm my drunken state.
All the signs are there, run mascara, eyes closed, idiotic smiles and beer in hot tub....
classic.
After sleeping on the conservatory floor, a good stretch and bounce on the trampoline was crucial.

I am so happy to be posting! :)
Please take note of that 'smile'... It is a rare thing that I 'smile' on here...
I'm just so happy okay!

Anyway, I'm off to go watch the tennis final.

But it's good to be back (whata drama queen)

Happy Blogging!

Think, India, THINK

So, here it is...

My last ever school exam.

2.00pm.

I am so nervous, I just sort of sit here in perpetual horror.

What if I sit in the exam thinking, 'say whaaaat???'

What if I write a whole load of philosophical crap?

What if I fail?

What if I don't get into uni?

okokokok, panic stations.

I should be fine.

I can DO this.

As long as I've got my thinking cap on.

Dear Lord!

It really is time to

Wish me Luck

An Award Ceremony

Bonjourno!

So, 2 out of my 3 exams are over!

HURRAY!

Although 1 out of 2 of them didn't exactly go to plan, I'm feeling so... so... relieved.
I haven't been sleeping properly for the last week - sick with nerves - so after my second exam, I just crashed and burned and slept for a good 13 hours.
(perhaps the celebratory alcohol intake was partly to blame)
The photo above is of Freeman, Delia and I, meeting in the toilet of a chilled out barn party for some gossip and, of course, a 10-second-self-timed photograph. Don't be fooled by the cute stripy mug in hand... it is deceptively filled with some oh, so sweet, joyous wine.

My final exam is in 1 week, leaving me 1 week to begin revising for it... yikes.

Recently, I've been (quite rightly so) a blog neglector. So, to make up for it, I thought I would catch up by doing a post on the AWARDS I have been given! That's right, AWARDS!
how exciting!!!

My first award was given to me (oh, so long ago) by Mads from It's Okay to Procrastinate. This was back in the day when I didn't even know what 'blog awards' were, let alone how to respond to one. So, since I am slightly more 'with it', I must say THANK YOU! Madeline has been one of my long time followers and has been an inspiration to me and the way I write my own blog.

My second award was given to me by Chloe from Chloe in Reality. I love Chloe's blog! I am an avid reader and always enjoy what she has to say. She's a great writer. This award consists of QUESTIONS which I must answer! An exciting prospect...... I will try to keep it short and sweet though. Nobody likes a rambler.

1. How would you describe yourself in five words?

Sociable, creative, a leader, a friend, conscientious
- this was difficult.

2. What are your biggest aspirations?

To travel, to take photographs, to write about my experiences.. to get paid doing all of these things?? haha! Not gunna happen. But of course, my life will be one pursuit for happiness.

3. Brains or brawn? ;)

Chloe! haha. Ummmmmmm, talking about the male species, brains are more important in a sense that the boy is funny, kind and can multiply....
But a little muscle can't hurt eh?

4. Who is your greatest role model?

role model role model role model...... I want to say something original and interesting, but I can't LIE can I? No, so.. my sister is my ultimate role model, she's beautiful, fashionable, clever, organised, always right and so funny!! (damn her to be honest)

5. What are you most afraid of?

I'm afraid of disease and death. Everything about it.. eurghhh shivers.

6. Where is your favourite place in the world?

My favourite place is bound to change when I go off travelling next year.. but as I stand right now.. the beach, the sea, my home... my bed.

7. Who frequently appears on your music playlists?

At the moment -

Laura Marling
Vampire Weekend
Paolo Nutini (marry me)
Local Natives

8. What is your favourite food?

I have been pondering over this question a lot recently (one ponders when revising). It has to be....
cheese. ketchup. breads. beans. peanut butter. peaches.
basically all the fattening things, it's a shame.

I will 'tag' this award in my next post...

I have rambled, sorry! And I have seriously ran over time with this post. I need to revise, oops! With this in mind, I am going to leave my last award (which could potentially be my most entertaining award) for later. Sorry folks. But just so you know what to expect for next time........

It's a shoe award.

The award was given to me by MS ARSCOTT, whose posts consist of short snippets of her life with beautiful photographs to marvel at. The award is to post your 5 most prized pairs of shoes for all to see.

5 pairs??? Dear Lord!

I hardly have 2 pairs which I can actually say I'm proud of...
I will be mocked at by fashion lovers.
(I'm afraid when it comes to hair, make up and clothes - I am a simpleton)
but I'll give it a go.
It'll be FUN.

I'll leave this long post with what I initially begun blogging about - my week.
I won't write about it, I won't bore you any longer.
I'll just leave the pictures to tell the story.

Au Revoir mes amis!

Cupcake Galore? Cupcake No More!

Hello!

My second break from revision this week was the birthday party of my best friend, Katie Freeman.
(I did a photo shoot of her hanging from some trees a while ago)
The baby of the group, Freeman finally hit the big 18!!

I'm just a little sad because I couldn't get her a present,
couldn't spend time on making her a card (which is major tradition),
couldn't get to the party early like all the others,
couldn't drink
and I couldn't even stay long!!
All due to my exams.

Can they just bugger off already!!!!

boohoo!!! :( !!!!

Okay, angry rant over. At least I got some nice photos of the evening...
Freeman's renowned for her love for food. This made us all laugh, she hates to share.
Can you guess who Katie is from the baby photo above I wonder?
On a more happier and interesting note -

Cupcakes galore? Cupcakes no more!
(I love to rhyme, sorry)

3 huge cakes were present at the party! haha! shock, horror.

My theme went out with a bang.
Delicious

Hope everyone's exams are going OK.
Happy blogging!

Party Dress And Heels

Hey gang

Before I begin, I must warn you, you are about to read the longest post on the planet!
(A lot can happen in a week)
I know I said in my last post that last weekend was my last weekend of fun... well... it didn't really turn out that way. This weekend was an absolute hoot!!! One of the best in fact. It's been half term this week, AKA just another week of hardcore revision for me and my fellow peers, although... any sort of revision was pretty much impossible due to the glorious weather, my sisters return from Uni and the simple fact that my house was covered in relatives aged from 4 to 43 = Hectic!

Friday
I couldn't bare being exiled to a room where I'd sit, staring hopelessly out of the window, watching my family play and laugh and swim and eat whilst I puzzled alone with epistemology
so
I gave up on the whole revising malarky and headed to St. Brelades beach where 4 friends and I ate lunch and played with a small, bouncy, green rubber ball that smelt like apples.
Can it get much better?
I travelled to my mother's house where my sister and her friends were stationed.
Mother took everybody on a tour around her 'farm'
which was where I snapped this snap
(of everybody looking rather inappropriately dressed
and out of place might I add)
hahaa I love it!
We ventured from the countryside, back to the seaside
where we all ate, conversed and drank
(no alcohol for me though - Sober Sally, remember)

That's my sister and I! She's the blonde and I'm the brunette,
incase you wondered.
A photo dedicated to some beautiful hair! (you've gotta love it)
Saturday
Sister's '21st family and friend's tea party'
Cupcakes were served
(can't stop the theme now)
and speeches were made
(I made everybody, including myself, cry)
It must have been the champagne?
Charlotte's 18th
Yes, another 18th and yes, another tea party and yes, more cupcakes.
It was lovely to see and catch up with all of the ladies again,
I feel as though this exam period has turned me into a social recluse.
Saturday Night
I went home, watched Britain's got Talent - THE FINAL (omgoodness so good)
had an Indian Takeaway with the family
And then when everybody had gone to bed,
I put back on my party dress and heels,
and drove into town
where I met my friends
and danced the night away.
hehehehe cliche but I don't care
Sunday
Great success! I snuck out and nobody had noticed!
Not even when I was woken at 9am with makeup smudged all over my face
and my party dress & heels thrown on the floor.
Good work.
My cousins were returning to London, so we went out to St. Ouens,
ate brunch and strolled along the beach to make ourselves feel better.
Below are some cute family snaps!
I shall miss my hectic household!
I have exactly one week before my exams commence.

I must must must revise HARD.

Wish me luck.
(and have a lovely week)

ALL HAIL Study Leave!

Bonjourno!

Study Leave - fundamentally the greatest thing ever invented by humanity!!!

Waking up at 10, lazing around in the sunshine, swimming in the sea, taking a dip in the pool, going solo with my notes... it's as though i've died in school and gone to study leave heaven! I love study leave! I pretty much love revising... only because it's fun to know and understand things, (don't you find?) it means I won't keel over with fear before entering that exam room.

But truth be told, I haven't been doing that much revision... I just need a break!! Okay, my exams are in 2 weeks, but this week I thought I'd take a chill pill, enjoy that happy vitamin D and get a bit of a tan going. Of course, I tell my family that 'I can work so much better in the sunshine'... but this is in fact FALSE.
  1. The white page makes my eyes squint, water and inevitably close.. reading becomes difficult.
  2. Suncream somehow manages to move from my nose and into my eyes.. reading becomes impossible.
  3. My auntie makes me wear a hat :( I feel generally uncool.
  4. She also makes me wear really uncool sun glasses (although these uncool items have vastly helped me with the reading..)
  5. The wind is my enemy.
I think i'll try and work inside over the next couple of weeks... it's probably for the best.

Happy revising all!

Love, Get Outta Here!

I have been avoiding this subject like the plague... but seeing as right now, (the moment when all I want to do is hide away in my house and revise) love and drama and arguments spill out, and bloggers, I must vent! Last year, at the very beginning of 2009, I began going out with this boy (lets call him T). We had the best year, he was in the year above me and super cool, sporty, funny, handsome... and I fell for him fast (totally cliché). I loved it because, living on a tiny island, you don't tend to discover boys who you don't already know as somebody's ex, or the guy who ate bugs that time, (you catch my drift). He was new and shinny. And so easy to love.

Why is it that all good things must come to an end? University. Brilliant. It seems to me that change is inevitable, cruel and quick when your a kid and there ain't nothin' you can do about it! Well, that's not what I thought at the time. We broke up, but I didn't let him go. I spoke to him nearly every single day and missed him like mad - but he wasn't having any of it. It was only when I gave up on him (and kissed L on my 18th birthday) that he gave up on 'the single life' at uni and asked me back out. FAB, I was over the moon! But looking back, I was also extremely naive and a serious dreamer. It just wasn't the same... effort went from 90% to 20% and I found myself beginning to resent, distrust and even get a little bored of our relationship. I had been left behind on this rock, in this little bubble that is Jersey, left to wait around and work. It got too much.

I broke up with him at the beginning of this year, thinking 'If T turned around now and told me he had cheated on me, I wouldn't be surprised and I don't think i'd even mind'. But wow. I did not foresee his reaction, he tried everything in his power to get me back... but it was all too late. My mind had moved on and my heart was following slowly behind. I had met somebody else... well, actually, I had begun to like somebody else. This guy, L, (I had kissed him on my 18th birthday) has been a friend of mine for a long time... and I was the only one who didn't seem to realise I liked him. Everybody would say things like 'so, when are you and L getting together?'. It wound me up so much! But look where we are now. Sigh. I'm caught between the two.

So this is where I end my long, long, brief (and perhaps boring) story of love - the foundation of all the hurt and confusion and distraction that has filled my life this week. T has returned from uni, so angry with me for seeing L... he hates me, though he still wants to fix it, to have another summer of fun.. meanwhile L doesn't want to see me anymore (at least whilst I act like a mole, staying in and revising) But I still like the guy...

So what do I do now?
Go back with T, stick around for L or....
take a trip to Single Town?
(haha)

Being single right now could be very wise. I'd quite like to pass my exams...
Exams, oh yer, I should be revising!
Story over.

Oh, and by the by, those photos above are not of me and my lovers. Just some friends!
(I bet it crossed your mind)
