The Iceland Phase

Here, I present to you the Iceland phase.
When you're budgeting, apparently Iceland's the place to be.
Says Annie anyway.
(note the cheap lemonade and 'funsize treats' she bought
AS WELL as the onion bhajis and the like)
Gotta admit though,
that bowl was emptied before anybody could complain.
Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Despite everybody being away,
there were a few weekends where things just came together
and people showed up.
There's been fluorescent foosball,
retro swimming hats,
the discovery of Zoidberg (no wrists Harriet)
and a lot, a lot of wine.

Perhaps too much wine.

But let's not get into that.

One Can Only Imagine

The boy left for uni saturday morning.
Tomorrow, sister leaves for uni abroad.
Friends are heading their separate ways over the next few weeks.
Weather's shit.
Full time job just around the corner.
And the worst of it is..
argh
it is literally painful to type..
my camera is broken.

I'm feeling deflated and so sad.

I think it's the anti-climax.
Jersey Live - that festival I mentioned a while ago?
well it was this weekend
and it was awesome
(despite somebody pouring vodka on my camera)
but it's over now
time for people to move on.

But I don't want summer to end and people to leave!
I know there's lots of new beginnings
(i'm sure I can scrape together some money to get the cam fixed
or buy a new one?)
but still...
nobody
likes
change
(I have a special bond with that inappropriately big camera)

Sigh,
it's going to be a long night.
In my desperate attempt to cheer up
I went rummaging through my Iphoto
and found these bad boys
from a party I went to last year.

And now i'm thinking to myself...

'Nothing i'm feeling now could match how these guys must have felt when they took that first glimpse of realisation
trying to figure out
where they are
and what the fuck they're doing on the floor
or why they might be holding several thousand beer bottles
or even why they are looking like a lady
or maybe even why there is a boot on the face.'

One can only imagine......
Or not?
I have been backwards and forward on whether to show this to you or not..
but here it is.
(Yes, that is brioche i'm clutching in my fist)
(and Yes, I did pass out at 10pm)
(and finally Yes, I did get up at 6am to take photos of the unconscious,
making it out as though I had been apart of the amazing night)

It's strange how much happier I feel.
hehehe

The Soap Did It.

Hi all,

Things aren't right.
It's blazingly hot outside whilst I sit here,
sniffling, spluttering and coughing my brains out.

How can this be??

I can only blame my past week. It's been a weird one.
1. A terrible Fancy Dress Party.
Nobody showed up.
This is the frightening thing about throwing a party,
you can never tell if it's going to be a success or a flop.
In this girl's case... I suppose the venue was too big,
too far away.
It was on a friday night - people chill on fridays.
It was fancy dress - people can't be bothered.
But I showed up!
Dressed in an orange vest,
claiming to be CHARMANDER
(you know... the Pokemon....)
No, I will not show you a picture of that.
2. A surprisingly good party!
Here's me, pulling up to my friend, Daisy's house
to find myself being ushered into an enormous home-made car park.
I can remember taking this picture...
taking a few steps back, bewildered at the gross amount of cars before me.
Daisy had told me her dad's friend was having a party at hers,
and to 'pop down'
I did not foresee what I would be 'popping' into.
It was gigantic!
Outside the house alone were tents, thai food, espetada stands,
fancy dress stalls, a safari truck... People smoking weed, taking pills
and dressed in all sorts of things.
And then there was me.
Sober and wearing something I'd just been to work in.
But I did stuff my face with green thai curry.
Inside the basement was a bar filled with booze...
SO MUCH BOOZE!
There was a stage where 10 bands played throughout the afternoon/night,
some of which were pretty famous.
(I can't remember who they were now)
THERE WAS A FREAKING FRUTINI MACHINE FILLED WITH MOJITO!!!

I would say that I am ill because I took loads of drugs, drunk loads of mojitos
(which apparently got spiked with MDMA later on that night)
and partied too hard...
But alas, I don't do drugs, I remained sober and I left at 11.30.

I am a sad excuse of a human being.
3. Student Night
A night where I took my sad sad self and got very very drunk!
(probably the night that brought on this cold)
I held some pre drinks at mine and we took the bus to town.
We were the only people on there, and we sung many many
heart felt, girly songs for the bus driver's entertainment.
(He applauded as we left)
Just look at that pose...
Why do I always do this?
Please... somebody shoot me
or at least take me home!
Nobody took me home... just yet.
We went to Pure, where a new student night was being held.
Good music, good dancing.
It was a shame when I went to the toilet, leaving my drink by the sink...
to find it tasted different when we were reunited.
Had it been spiked??
No. Somebody had just squirted soap into it by accident.
(my life isn't that exciting)

There was an incident, however, with the boy I was seeing for a while
(before getting back with Peter)
He ignored me
and later on told me that I wasn't worth talking to anymore.
I was pretty upset, I thought we were good friends.

P.S. I still reckon it was the soap which made me ill

Happy Blogging everybody

An Award Ceremony

Bonjourno!

So, 2 out of my 3 exams are over!

HURRAY!

Although 1 out of 2 of them didn't exactly go to plan, I'm feeling so... so... relieved.
I haven't been sleeping properly for the last week - sick with nerves - so after my second exam, I just crashed and burned and slept for a good 13 hours.
(perhaps the celebratory alcohol intake was partly to blame)
The photo above is of Freeman, Delia and I, meeting in the toilet of a chilled out barn party for some gossip and, of course, a 10-second-self-timed photograph. Don't be fooled by the cute stripy mug in hand... it is deceptively filled with some oh, so sweet, joyous wine.

My final exam is in 1 week, leaving me 1 week to begin revising for it... yikes.

Recently, I've been (quite rightly so) a blog neglector. So, to make up for it, I thought I would catch up by doing a post on the AWARDS I have been given! That's right, AWARDS!
how exciting!!!

My first award was given to me (oh, so long ago) by Mads from It's Okay to Procrastinate. This was back in the day when I didn't even know what 'blog awards' were, let alone how to respond to one. So, since I am slightly more 'with it', I must say THANK YOU! Madeline has been one of my long time followers and has been an inspiration to me and the way I write my own blog.

My second award was given to me by Chloe from Chloe in Reality. I love Chloe's blog! I am an avid reader and always enjoy what she has to say. She's a great writer. This award consists of QUESTIONS which I must answer! An exciting prospect...... I will try to keep it short and sweet though. Nobody likes a rambler.

1. How would you describe yourself in five words?

Sociable, creative, a leader, a friend, conscientious
- this was difficult.

2. What are your biggest aspirations?

To travel, to take photographs, to write about my experiences.. to get paid doing all of these things?? haha! Not gunna happen. But of course, my life will be one pursuit for happiness.

3. Brains or brawn? ;)

Chloe! haha. Ummmmmmm, talking about the male species, brains are more important in a sense that the boy is funny, kind and can multiply....
But a little muscle can't hurt eh?

4. Who is your greatest role model?

role model role model role model...... I want to say something original and interesting, but I can't LIE can I? No, so.. my sister is my ultimate role model, she's beautiful, fashionable, clever, organised, always right and so funny!! (damn her to be honest)

5. What are you most afraid of?

I'm afraid of disease and death. Everything about it.. eurghhh shivers.

6. Where is your favourite place in the world?

My favourite place is bound to change when I go off travelling next year.. but as I stand right now.. the beach, the sea, my home... my bed.

7. Who frequently appears on your music playlists?

At the moment -

Laura Marling
Vampire Weekend
Paolo Nutini (marry me)
Local Natives

8. What is your favourite food?

I have been pondering over this question a lot recently (one ponders when revising). It has to be....
cheese. ketchup. breads. beans. peanut butter. peaches.
basically all the fattening things, it's a shame.

I will 'tag' this award in my next post...

I have rambled, sorry! And I have seriously ran over time with this post. I need to revise, oops! With this in mind, I am going to leave my last award (which could potentially be my most entertaining award) for later. Sorry folks. But just so you know what to expect for next time........

It's a shoe award.

The award was given to me by MS ARSCOTT, whose posts consist of short snippets of her life with beautiful photographs to marvel at. The award is to post your 5 most prized pairs of shoes for all to see.

5 pairs??? Dear Lord!

I hardly have 2 pairs which I can actually say I'm proud of...
I will be mocked at by fashion lovers.
(I'm afraid when it comes to hair, make up and clothes - I am a simpleton)
but I'll give it a go.
It'll be FUN.

I'll leave this long post with what I initially begun blogging about - my week.
I won't write about it, I won't bore you any longer.
I'll just leave the pictures to tell the story.

Au Revoir mes amis!

Party Dress And Heels

Hey gang

Before I begin, I must warn you, you are about to read the longest post on the planet!
(A lot can happen in a week)
I know I said in my last post that last weekend was my last weekend of fun... well... it didn't really turn out that way. This weekend was an absolute hoot!!! One of the best in fact. It's been half term this week, AKA just another week of hardcore revision for me and my fellow peers, although... any sort of revision was pretty much impossible due to the glorious weather, my sisters return from Uni and the simple fact that my house was covered in relatives aged from 4 to 43 = Hectic!

Friday
I couldn't bare being exiled to a room where I'd sit, staring hopelessly out of the window, watching my family play and laugh and swim and eat whilst I puzzled alone with epistemology
so
I gave up on the whole revising malarky and headed to St. Brelades beach where 4 friends and I ate lunch and played with a small, bouncy, green rubber ball that smelt like apples.
Can it get much better?
I travelled to my mother's house where my sister and her friends were stationed.
Mother took everybody on a tour around her 'farm'
which was where I snapped this snap
(of everybody looking rather inappropriately dressed
and out of place might I add)
hahaa I love it!
We ventured from the countryside, back to the seaside
where we all ate, conversed and drank
(no alcohol for me though - Sober Sally, remember)

That's my sister and I! She's the blonde and I'm the brunette,
incase you wondered.
A photo dedicated to some beautiful hair! (you've gotta love it)
Saturday
Sister's '21st family and friend's tea party'
Cupcakes were served
(can't stop the theme now)
and speeches were made
(I made everybody, including myself, cry)
It must have been the champagne?
Charlotte's 18th
Yes, another 18th and yes, another tea party and yes, more cupcakes.
It was lovely to see and catch up with all of the ladies again,
I feel as though this exam period has turned me into a social recluse.
Saturday Night
I went home, watched Britain's got Talent - THE FINAL (omgoodness so good)
had an Indian Takeaway with the family
And then when everybody had gone to bed,
I put back on my party dress and heels,
and drove into town
where I met my friends
and danced the night away.
hehehehe cliche but I don't care
Sunday
Great success! I snuck out and nobody had noticed!
Not even when I was woken at 9am with makeup smudged all over my face
and my party dress & heels thrown on the floor.
Good work.
My cousins were returning to London, so we went out to St. Ouens,
ate brunch and strolled along the beach to make ourselves feel better.
Below are some cute family snaps!
I shall miss my hectic household!
I have exactly one week before my exams commence.

I must must must revise HARD.

Wish me luck.
(and have a lovely week)

The Fat Club

Hello,
This weekend I did not drink.
(I know I mention alcohol a lot, but I promise you, I am not an alcoholic)
Instead,
I drove
and I ate chinese food.
I revised.
I went to another 18th,
where I remained sober
and drove home at an appropriate hour (11pm).
I made no spectacle of myself
nor did I eat 'hang over' breakfast.
I don't like study leave anymore.
I found myself taking photos of the 'things' at this party rather than the people.
(More cupcakes! I think I can safely say I have a running theme going on here)
This is what I look like when I'm at a party
creepy loner loser girl ??

haha, these photos make me laugh.
I really need to get a life and put down my camera at social events.
I don't want people to start calling me 'creepy loner loser girl'.
That's for sure!

I hope you had a better weekend than I did!
Happy blogging
