Blow My Pipe

Life is good.

A month in and I'm starting to get used to this place.
Like I thought, good friends have sprouted with time.
I like Edinburgh, a lot.
I do not like essays, lectures or tutorials however.
My mind HATES me for making it focus on philosophy again.

In other news,
I turned 20 on the 30th!
20.......
I feel so sophis
and way less intelligent.

Life so far in the Burgh:

Working = Money & Money = Travelling

I've abandoned my blog for long enough.
There's been a lot going on...
I've found myself wondering how I ever had the time for this?
Which is weird
considering all I've been doing for the past 4 months is filing 9 − 5
and switching off in the evenings.
Kind of switching off anyway...

Here's a few photos of November to get me started.

Working = Money & Money = Travelling

But i've also found money can = excessive spending when one is feeling naughty.

i.e. I think i've spent over 500 pounds on cameras........ crap.

But anyway, I shall keep this short.
And I shall post again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next.

OH, did I forget to mention?

I AM GOING TRAVELLING IN 8 DAYS.

Happy Blogging!

One Can Only Imagine

The boy left for uni saturday morning.
Tomorrow, sister leaves for uni abroad.
Friends are heading their separate ways over the next few weeks.
Weather's shit.
Full time job just around the corner.
And the worst of it is..
argh
it is literally painful to type..
my camera is broken.

I'm feeling deflated and so sad.

I think it's the anti-climax.
Jersey Live - that festival I mentioned a while ago?
well it was this weekend
and it was awesome
(despite somebody pouring vodka on my camera)
but it's over now
time for people to move on.

But I don't want summer to end and people to leave!
I know there's lots of new beginnings
(i'm sure I can scrape together some money to get the cam fixed
or buy a new one?)
but still...
nobody
likes
change
(I have a special bond with that inappropriately big camera)

Sigh,
it's going to be a long night.
In my desperate attempt to cheer up
I went rummaging through my Iphoto
and found these bad boys
from a party I went to last year.

And now i'm thinking to myself...

'Nothing i'm feeling now could match how these guys must have felt when they took that first glimpse of realisation
trying to figure out
where they are
and what the fuck they're doing on the floor
or why they might be holding several thousand beer bottles
or even why they are looking like a lady
or maybe even why there is a boot on the face.'

One can only imagine......
Or not?
I have been backwards and forward on whether to show this to you or not..
but here it is.
(Yes, that is brioche i'm clutching in my fist)
(and Yes, I did pass out at 10pm)
(and finally Yes, I did get up at 6am to take photos of the unconscious,
making it out as though I had been apart of the amazing night)

It's strange how much happier I feel.
hehehe

I Caved

So...........
I went out, got drunk and was molested by this old man last night......

Yes, I know, I shouldn't have drunk.
I could have driven to the party, I could have saved myself, but no! I shunned Sober Sally and welcomed the straight vodka shots my crazy friend was flying my way.
But it was so much fun!!!!
The best night. I have so many photos I want to share, but I don't want to fill up my entire blog with 'pics from last night'.. or do I? I might. (haha)

It was supposed to be a quiet night in. After England shocked the nation on friday night and had me sitting there, sober, with a bunch of moody drunken twats, I wasn't exactly RARING to go the night after. However... it was Al's birthday (I was only invited to this event because the man I am seeing is Al's good friend... hehe) However, all of my friends ended up joining!
You had Freeman, Jo, Abbie, Jendog, G.. it was a party!
And well, I caved!
And I caved with a crash.

p.s. Just thought I'd mention that there weren't any cupcakes at this party!
Not even cake!
What is wrong with men?

(now for the PICS of the evening!)
Snorting spirits, as you do?????
Idiots
Me and best friend, Jo
Surely you are intrigued about the brief mention of a NEW MAN,
well.. he is in this photo, but I ain't telling you who he is, hehee.
Me and G, AKA cousin, who also happens to be my best friend, funny huh.
(also, take note of my half straightened hair!!! YES, I made a big effort)
Rowdy Bus journey, as ever
Piggy Back Battles (bums out, great look)
gettin' low in da club
Anna AKA Head Girl of my school (old school even, weird!)
She was completely responsible for the drunk photos at the top of this post..
This woman is the funnest thing alive, I have a lot of love for her!
Somebody make this devil juice illegal!

Sigh...... I'm glad to get that great evening off my chest.
It was great.

Today though, i'm feeling a little down. Of course it's to be expected on Father's Day when your Father is indeed, dead. Sorry to be blunt, I am in a blunt kind of mood. But it's just pretty shit when everybody is celebrating the great beings that are Dads, when all I can do is just stare at an old photograph and try to remember my dad's voice and what he always used to say to me and the last time I ever made him a card celebrating how great he was.
I really miss that silly old man.

And to make matters worst, I dropped my sister off at the airport today as she flies off to Italy to start a 5 week trip around Europe!!! Festivals and freedom. I hate saying goodbye, it makes me feel sick and panicky, like i'll never see her again.. but I'm just being a tad melodramatic now.

I'm sorry to put such a downer on such a happy post!!
I felt that it was necessary for me to get that down though.

Happy Father's Day (for all you Britons, anyhow)

An Award Ceremony

Bonjourno!

So, 2 out of my 3 exams are over!

HURRAY!

Although 1 out of 2 of them didn't exactly go to plan, I'm feeling so... so... relieved.
I haven't been sleeping properly for the last week - sick with nerves - so after my second exam, I just crashed and burned and slept for a good 13 hours.
(perhaps the celebratory alcohol intake was partly to blame)
The photo above is of Freeman, Delia and I, meeting in the toilet of a chilled out barn party for some gossip and, of course, a 10-second-self-timed photograph. Don't be fooled by the cute stripy mug in hand... it is deceptively filled with some oh, so sweet, joyous wine.

My final exam is in 1 week, leaving me 1 week to begin revising for it... yikes.

Recently, I've been (quite rightly so) a blog neglector. So, to make up for it, I thought I would catch up by doing a post on the AWARDS I have been given! That's right, AWARDS!
how exciting!!!

My first award was given to me (oh, so long ago) by Mads from It's Okay to Procrastinate. This was back in the day when I didn't even know what 'blog awards' were, let alone how to respond to one. So, since I am slightly more 'with it', I must say THANK YOU! Madeline has been one of my long time followers and has been an inspiration to me and the way I write my own blog.

My second award was given to me by Chloe from Chloe in Reality. I love Chloe's blog! I am an avid reader and always enjoy what she has to say. She's a great writer. This award consists of QUESTIONS which I must answer! An exciting prospect...... I will try to keep it short and sweet though. Nobody likes a rambler.

1. How would you describe yourself in five words?

Sociable, creative, a leader, a friend, conscientious
- this was difficult.

2. What are your biggest aspirations?

To travel, to take photographs, to write about my experiences.. to get paid doing all of these things?? haha! Not gunna happen. But of course, my life will be one pursuit for happiness.

3. Brains or brawn? ;)

Chloe! haha. Ummmmmmm, talking about the male species, brains are more important in a sense that the boy is funny, kind and can multiply....
But a little muscle can't hurt eh?

4. Who is your greatest role model?

role model role model role model...... I want to say something original and interesting, but I can't LIE can I? No, so.. my sister is my ultimate role model, she's beautiful, fashionable, clever, organised, always right and so funny!! (damn her to be honest)

5. What are you most afraid of?

I'm afraid of disease and death. Everything about it.. eurghhh shivers.

6. Where is your favourite place in the world?

My favourite place is bound to change when I go off travelling next year.. but as I stand right now.. the beach, the sea, my home... my bed.

7. Who frequently appears on your music playlists?

At the moment -

Laura Marling
Vampire Weekend
Paolo Nutini (marry me)
Local Natives

8. What is your favourite food?

I have been pondering over this question a lot recently (one ponders when revising). It has to be....
cheese. ketchup. breads. beans. peanut butter. peaches.
basically all the fattening things, it's a shame.

I will 'tag' this award in my next post...

I have rambled, sorry! And I have seriously ran over time with this post. I need to revise, oops! With this in mind, I am going to leave my last award (which could potentially be my most entertaining award) for later. Sorry folks. But just so you know what to expect for next time........

It's a shoe award.

The award was given to me by MS ARSCOTT, whose posts consist of short snippets of her life with beautiful photographs to marvel at. The award is to post your 5 most prized pairs of shoes for all to see.

5 pairs??? Dear Lord!

I hardly have 2 pairs which I can actually say I'm proud of...
I will be mocked at by fashion lovers.
(I'm afraid when it comes to hair, make up and clothes - I am a simpleton)
but I'll give it a go.
It'll be FUN.

I'll leave this long post with what I initially begun blogging about - my week.
I won't write about it, I won't bore you any longer.
I'll just leave the pictures to tell the story.

Au Revoir mes amis!
