Devil. In Dog Form.

Bonjourno!

My only break from revision (so far) this week
has been going to my mother's house for a big celebratory birthday dinner!
It was my mum's 50 something birthday on tuesday
(she will not reveal the age old secret)
and I remained designated driver for the evening, missing out on homemade vodka and sparkling wine.. saying that, it wasn't all doom and gloom for me. I did revel in the marvellous home cooking and we all ate SO much to the point we had to walk it off before pudding.
(not mentioning the fact my mum forgot to put the pudding in the oven)

Below are some snaps of my sister, her friends and Talluah
(my mum's boyfriend's daughter)
walking the dog and pretending to be.. bunnies?
The dog, Roxy, is a whooole other story -
She is the devil.
In dog form.

Roxy's brain to body ratio is astonishing. My mother tried taking her to dog training sessions at an early age but I don't think she liked being shouted at (my mum that is) by the professional trainer, so that quickly came to an end and my mother became set on training Roxy with her own, laid back sorta style...

Fail, Doom... Misery.

The dog jumps up, scratches, ladders your tights, won't leave your side, has to be barricaded from going upstairs or entering the living room - she will eat/ stamp on everything. She is large, probably due to the fact my mum feeds her treats every time she
'misbehaves'
(maybe the dog's not so dumb after all?)
I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this photo flash up on my screen
Is that Roxy? Sitting calmly? Could that be a smile???

Aww, okay, she's not that bad.

Hope you're all having a good week,
Happy blogging!

The vitals - if you want to know me a little better.
  • My name used to be Cairen Beau (said like Keiron) until I changed it to India (because everybody calls me that, even my GCSE's and A LEVELS are under that name - dammit).
  • My mum left my dad when I was 13.
  • My dad committed suicide just after my 16th birthday.
  • I have a sister, she's 21 and the greatest.
  • I don't live with my mum, not because we don't get on, we really do, but because I don't like change. (I stay with her once a week)
  • I live with my auntie and uncle. (They're in their 70's)
  • My dad left behind my house, which is small and right by the sea. My sister and I live there together when she comes back from uni and I sometimes stay there on weekends with my friends. (it's a great escape)
  • I tend to have long term relationships (I've had two) and I'm not very good at playing the field. (Although I think it's about time I did)
  • I have a small obsession (okay, a LARGE obsession) with documenting things. Every event, since I can remember, I have snapped it up with a camera. (People refer to me as 'the girl with the camera' - maybe I should have called my blog that?)
  • I am going to do English at Edinburgh University (but all I really want to do is photography)
  • My favourite food in the entire world is cheese and I also adore ketchup (not together... though I bet that tastes good)
  • I would call myself a perfectionist (note how I just lurrrve the bullet points)
  • 3 of my best friends, i've had since I was 4.
  • I plan to go travelling around the world next year (Thailand, China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, New Zealand... but that is a whole other post)
To be continued...
